Re: Madden 12?

All the rosters and everything were up to date just like any other year.

How can rosters be "up to date" if there are no official rosters?

That doesn't really make sense.

Re: Madden 12?

EA has separate contracts with the NFL and the NFLPA, one is not dependent on the other. The CBA situation has no effect on Madden, save the changes in Franchise Mode rules. You can bet if there is no 2012 season, Madden will drop.

Again, I don't know if my theory holds any real weight and could be completely wrong, but if the players union does not have a contract with the owners and the NFL, couldn't they theoretically sell their likeness to whomever they wanted to?
They already do. The NFL cannot sell the rights to the players, and thus they do not. EA has the exclusive NFLPA license as well as the NFL license. They're two different contracts.

I'm pretty sure that IF the lockout were to happen, players with existing contracts would still be under contract with their current teams and be fully expected to live out the remainder of the contracts once play resumed therefore still being considered "on the roster" of those teams. On the other hand you have a valid point in that the "official" rosters for the game would be pretty bare bones because of presumably no rookie draft, no free agent signings, and teams losing players to expiring contracts. Maybe thats what you meant.

Re: Madden 12?

I am sure even if there is no nfl in 2011.That madden 12 will still come out. I am almost sure if it. But who knows I goes we will fined out a year from now. But I sure the owners and players will come to aggreement long before the holdout would happen.
