My strategy for drafting defense in Madden '10

Pretty easy. Someone might've already posted this before.

What I do is just scout MLBs and OLBs when I look for defensive players. I don't scout DEs or DTs at all. Try to get all of the LBs scouted in your draft class by the time the draft rolls around. By doing this, you should be able to find 3-4 really good LBs in the draft, some in the late rounds. I look for good awareness and tackling ability. Draft them.

Once you draft them and then sign them you will be able to change their positions. For example, if you draft a MLB with a rating of 80, you can change him to be either a DE, DT, or SS and their rating will usually be 4-5 points higher to start.

This is a good way to stockpile depth for the Defensive line. Usually after a couple years they will be over 90 ratings.

Of course, you'll still have to scout and draft other positions but this helped me and it might help others too.

I can see drafting LB's and turning them into DE's,but DT's?Wouldnt they be kind of small with little strength? I like my DT's having at least a strength of 90 or higher.

I agree, I wouldn't think that they could be half decent at being DT, you need big players for that position.

Give it a try with the LBs you have on your roster now. Almost all of them will have better rankings as DEs and DTs.

Edit: You don't have to move them permanently. Just go to edit and scroll their position over to DT and DE and you'll see what I mean. You don't have to save it that way.

Unless they are fat as a cow or they beat themselves in the head and have a trainer smack them in the face b4 a game,Im not playing them at DT.Just aint very realistic to me.

Not saying it doesnt work.It just aint my personal style
