Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

Baltimore selects:

Jared Odrick, DE, Penn State
Dwan Edwards is gone, while Justin Bannan signed with the Broncos. Suddenly, Baltimore's defensive line is a little thin. Jared Odrick is one of the top players available and would be a great fit in the Ravens' defense.
Projected rating: 76

Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

Arizona Selects:

Sean Witherspoon, MLB, Missouri
Sean Weatherspoon is a natural 4-3 weakside linebacker, but he could also be very effective in the middle of a 3-4. He'll take Dansby's spot and offer his tremendous leadership to an Arizona defense that surrendered 90 points in its final two games last year.

Projected rating: 74

The Cowboys have to upgrade the free safety position. Kyle Wilson is one of the better players available at this juncture. Wilson is fast, can play CB or safety, and the Cowboys could use him at the safety position. He is a good player. He faced terrible competition in college (San Jose State, Louisiana Tech, Idaho, New Mexico) but can still succed at the NFL level.

hey man only thing wrong with this pick is that he was taken by the Texans...

Oh crap, the re-pick by the Cowboys.

Maurkice Pouncey, C/G, Florida
The Cowboys need help on the O-line, and Pouncey will provide it. He was a great lineman in college, and will provide an instant boost to the Cowboys offensive line.

Projected rating: 75

With the 28th pick in the NFL draft the San Diego Chargers Select....

Everson Griffen out of the Unversity of Southern California

Griffen is a underclassmen at 6'3 273 made some spectacular plays at USC however has been questioned for his lack of commitment on some plays. However has the opportunity to make plays for the Sandiego Defense.

Last recap before we finish the first round...

1. St. Louis Rams- Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma: 80 OVR
2. Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska: 84 OVR
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma: 83 OVR
4. Washington Redskins- Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma: 81 OVR
5. Kansas City Chiefs - Russel Okung, OT, Oklahoma St.: 82 OVR
6. Seattle Seahawks - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee: 81 OVR
7. Cleveland Browns - Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame: 78 OVR
8. Oakland Raiders - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech: 80 OVR
9. Buffalo Bills - CJ Spiller, RB, Clemson: 82 OVR
10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Joe Haden, CB, Florida, 79 OVR
11. Denver Broncos - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma St: 79 OVR
12. Miami Dolphins - Jason Paul-Pierre, OLB, South Florida:77 OVR
13. San Francisco 49ers - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa: 81 OVR
14. Seattle Seahawks - Tim Tebow, QB, Florida: 70 OVR
15. New York Giants - Rolando McClain, MLB, Alabama: 75 OVR
16. Tennessee Titans - Brandon Graham; DE, Michigan: 76 OVR
17. San Francisco 49ers - Taylor Mays; S, USC: 76 OVR
18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Mike Iupati; G, Idaho: 78 OVR
19. Atlanta Falcons - Earl Thomas; S, Texas: 80 OVR
20. Houston Texans - Kyle Wilson; CB, Boise St: 75 OVR
21. Cincinnati Bengals - Jermaine Gresham: TE, Oklahoma: 77 OVR
22. New England Patriots - Ryan Matthews: RB, Fresno St: 75 OVR
23. Green Bay Packers - Anthony Davis: OT, Rutgers: 76 OVR
24. Philadelphia Eagles - Devin McCourty: CB, Rutgers: 74 OVR
25. Baltimore Ravens - Jared Odrick: DE, Penn State: 76 OVR
26. Arizona Cardinals - Sean Weatherspoon: LB, Missouri: 74 OVR
27. Dallas Cowboys - Maurkice Pouncey: C/G, Florida: 75 OVR
28. San Diego Chargers - Everson Griffen: DE, USC: 74 OVR

Thoughts:
- Pouncey is considered one of the best center prospects in a while. I don't like how just because he's drafted later in the first round (due to circumstance and positional value), his OVR takes a hit. He's a 78 minimum.
- McClain is probably higher than a 75. He might not be uber-dynamic, but he's solid.
- I agree with the 80 for Earl Thomas. Steal for the Falcons.
- I guess I'm fine my Pack taking a good OT but I'd have preferred taking a pass rusher like Hughes or Kindle, who are still on the board btw

Alright...the NY Jets are on the clock with pick #29...........

Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

With the 29th pick the jets select :

Sergio Kindle DE/OLB out of Texas

I think they will actually go with Taylor Mays here but he went early so I have them going ahead and trying to get a guy with a lot of upside who never got it going for Texas.

Projected Rating : 72
