Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

While the two best players left on the board are Dan Williams DT from Tenn and Anthony Davis OT Rutgers.
New England loves their offense. With Welker Hurt and his return uncertain, New England passes on Williams and their need to replace Richard Seymour at DT with HB Ryan Mathews.

With the 22nd pick, the Patriots pick Ryan Mathews HB Fresno St.

Mathews enters Madden 11 with a 75 ovr.

Mathews will give the offense a boost and take some pressure of the passing game.
Although a Rookie, HB is the easiest position to transition and have an impact. Blitz pickups are an issue but running for high college level HBs should be at the least affective in the NFL in the right role/ scheme.

On the Clock with the 23rd pick are the Green Bay Packers. Im not gonna make the pick but after what Rodgers went through with pass protection there is no way the packers dont take an OT and most likely Anthony Davis from Rutgers.
ANd to Add to that Dan Willams was a 4yr starter in the SEC and stood out in the SR. Bowl. He will be gone by pick 23 and if he is not for some crazy reason 24 will scoop him up in another 8 second pick.

Seymour wasn't a DT...he was a 3-4 DE.

Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

One thing, i never said Seymour was a DT. I said they needed to replace an impact player who was Seymour on the Dline and that replacement would be a DT. Seymour weighs 310 lbs. thats DTs in college. or at least thats what i meant. My bad.

a 3-4 DE is a Dtackle in most 4-3 scheme.
A 3-4 DE has to be big and physical. Many athletic college DTs become 3-4 DE. ala Marcus Spears and about 40 other examples.

Here is the wiki on Richard Seymour
2001–02 seasons

Seymour was drafted by the Patriots in the first round (sixth overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. On July 24, 2001, the Patriots signed Seymour to a six-year, $14.3 million contract. He played in 13 games in his 2001 rookie season, starting 10 of them, amassing three sacks mainly as a 4-3 defensive tackle. Seymour missed the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals as well as two late October games with a leg injury. In Super Bowl XXXVI, Seymour started at defensive tackle and earned a Super Bowl ring for the Patriots' victory over the St. Louis Rams.
The 2002 season saw Seymour starting all 16 games at 4-3 defensive tackle in his second season in the NFL, collecting 5.5 sacks and an interception en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance. Seymour also had a presence on special teams, blocking field goals in back-to-back November games against the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings

Dan Williams would move to a 3-4 DE if New England took him just like 80 percent of all the other 3-4 ends.

Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

with the 23rd Overrall pick the GB Packers select
LT Anthony Davis 76 overall

Aaron Rodgers received much better pass protection since losing to the Buccaneers, but things ultimately fell apart in Arizona. Relying on Clifton to protect Rodgers' blind side for another year is not a good idea. Green Bay's No. 1 priority this offseason is finding a top-notch left tackle for Rodgers.

Yeah, since its all right there in front of you, Seymour was drafted a DT, played DT early in his carreer, my guess is u cant read, or your mad Seymour didnt want to play for yall.
I Dont blame Him. Im pretty sure yall(Raiders) will draft CJ Spiller or D Thomas in the first round to go with Bush, Mcfadden, Vargas ,Heyward-BEY and Russell in that dynamic offense.
So maybe you can take one of your clues and send it to Al Davis.

Re: Operation Sports User Mock Draft

With the 24th pick, the Eagles select Devin McCourty, CB out of Rutgers

Sheldon Brown just got traded and Asante Samuel can't tackle. Corner is definitely a need and the speed McCourty will fill it.

Projected OVR: 74

The Baltimore Ravens are up...
