If this is a return to the PS2 pre-play controls, which were seamless and absolutely fantastic that would be huge. Or if it was similar to what APF 2k8 has which was pretty similar to the old PS2 Madden pre-play controls I would take that as well.

What we have now is a big jumbled mess that makes it near impossible to adjust anything manually before the play starts. I assumed they would go back to their former PS2 pre-play controls, since their new mantra is "Simple, quick, and deep" and what we have now is nothing even close to that.

Yeah that could be a example.

It was never called "strategy pad" but it definitely could be a name for it since you used the d-pad to make adjustments.
