Madden 11 Introducing Positional Tendencies (via PastaPadre)

http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/04/24...nal-tendencies

If this turns out to be something that's introduced across the board for all positions, this could be huge!

Snippet:
Quote:
Tendencies would be extremely valuable at other positions though as well. Is a RB more likely to cut a run to the outside or run straight downhill? Is a safety more likely to go for the INT or the big hit? Differentiating the players, beyond just their ratings, could be achieved through tendencies.

This could be huge in not only game but in Franchise mode aswell, as it would make drafting and how you approach teams in say the playoffs differently and help you make each "Gameplan" that they keep talking about differently.

I like it if it indeed is ALL positions.

Re: Madden 11 Introducing Positional Tendencies (via PastaPadre)

whoa

they are adding in features that were in 2k5... amazing

why dont they jus put all the things from 2k5 in at one time instead of doin it year by year..
its jus silly

and uhhhh.. i hope this tendency system actually works and i wont see VY staying in the pocket 98% of the time because all the teams still play the same.

it one thing for EA to announce something, its a another for it to properly work in the game.

hopefully this translates to coach hiring having an affect on players and vica versa
such as a QB rushing DE not wanting to play for a team that uses the 3-4

I'm wondering if this will mean anything at all. When you create players in '10 you can see a tendency based on their ratings. To me it just sounds like they're making this visible all the way across the board.

They need the Head Coach feature that changed a players rating based on what scheme on defense or playcalling style of offense you used.

Re: Madden 11 Introducing Positional Tendencies (via PastaPadre)

About time they added this feature, NFL 2K5 had this.

NFL 2K5 also had different types of running backs, so you would never see Darren Sproles do a shoulder charge.

In 2K5, if you go to edit player, you can select their "Run Style". If the player was switched to Finesse, he would juke and spin a lot to avoid tacklers. If he was Power, he would shoulder charge and stiff arm. If he was Balanced, he would do a little bit or both.

Try putting 99 break tackle on a Finesse running back in 2K5 - when you go to shoulder charge a guy, it will be ineffective cause hes not that type of running back.

A bit off topic, sorry: Have you ever seen Darren Sproles play? He shoulder charges all the time. He might not be great at it because of his size, but he tries pretty often.

Re: Madden 11 Introducing Positional Tendencies (via PastaPadre)

Havent this always been in the game?

Speed/Balance/Pocket/Scrambler/hardhitter/Etc...

Have always been in Madden...

Am I missing something?

Or the news is that it will actually work this year...Like the other tuneups they've done(ask madden, loco)
