If you are going to go last gen then ESPN NFL2K5 is the game you want without question. If you have to have Madden then I would go for 07. 05 was a great year, but for some reason I liked 07 better. I don't know if someone does updated rosters for any of the old Madden games (except 08 on pc) But with Finn's editor you can with 2k5. It would be so easy to edit the players on your spread sheet with the editor. Also, still a very, very strong community with tons of support and options. (I have for ps2 and for xbox1 and xbox1 version is better, but ps2 version is still great.)

vision cone made 06 super for me. I think it's on 07 as well.

My first Madden was 2006 for the Xbox 360, so Madden 10 has been the best I've played.

07. It was the best PS2 Madden imo in terms of soundtrack, gameplay, franchise, superstar, etc. it's my favorite legacy gen game.

I played 05 for a really long time, definitely my favorite for Last Gen.

I don't see Madden being a problem, but a couple years ago when the iteration just didn't seem like a lot and I didn't feel like I was having very much fun in my franchise, just going through the motions, I played a lot of NCAA instead that year.

Think I got UNLV up to a 6 (or 5, whatever the max was) star school and won the BCS championship with them... that wasn't very easy.

I'd do the same if Madden didn't hold my interest a few months after release.
