Strong as ever. I feel like Madden 10 was a step in the right direction, and I think Madden 11 will be even better. Im very excited for Madden 11.

Well ive been pretty unsatisfied with madden this gen, so I find my self often thinking about just giving up on Madden and just playing action/adventure games and shooters until the next-gen consoles come out. in fact i might just rent it this year because i can tell by the vids the game isnt going to be anything too much different from past versions.

I have just started to lose interest in Madden 10, and am thinking about retireing from my online franchises. Mainly because I find it's harder to get pumped up for the new release if you have been playing up until the week prior to the release of the new Madden. Whereas, if you go without playing Madden for a while you get hyped up for it and buy it day 1. Madden 2001 was the last Madden I played all year. Yet Madden 2002 is the last Madden I didn't buy. Do the math. Rather that's a good thing or not, I don't know.

Where's the option for more interest than ever? I want to see this locomotion in action, and I REALLY want to hear Gus go nuts in the booth.

Im 24 and i think that last gen Maddens are far superior than the recent nxt gen titles. They gave us another gimmick which is locomotion. I watch the alpha vid and it looked and played like Madden 10. I saw missed blocking assignments and momentum still wasnt respected at all in the vids. I recently dloaded the back breaker demo. Tho there are flaws in the game like lack of commentary, and the camera is a problem, but may be fixed in a patch. The gameplay and physics blew my mind, and im actually thinking about purchasing that instead of Madden this year. I mean it really felt like tru to life football and was amazing. Im not a madden basher, cuz u can check my xbox gamer profile and see ive had Madden 08-10, but with that being said. I may w8 for a price drop for Madden 11 then get it.

Well the price didn't even drop for Madden 10 after the Superbowl and right now Madden 10 has only dropped $5 retail price to $54.99, they're really milking the product from all ends now. I can't believe it.

I loved the Ps2 versions so much that despite not liking the next gen versions I continued to buy. But it's starting to work the opposite way. I haven't liked the next gen versions so now I don't think I will be buying for awhile.
I think we can agree next gen has been poor from Madden but their sales didn't really reflect this much. Madden 10 sales were down despite being the best next gen version.
I couldn't find Maddens sales so I will use Saw as an example.
I loved the first Saw movie. So much so I watched 2, 3, and 4. For me none of them was as good as the first so after the 4th I had lost interest and the figures suggest most people were the same.

I think the same thing will happen to Madden. The failure of next gen Madden will be reflected in sales over the coming years just like the success of the Ps2 versions carried over to next gen despite next gen being a dissapointment. Madden 10 not selling well says more about the quality of the Maddens before it than Madden 10 itself. Even if they start making a great game the failures of Madden 06-09 will continue to hurt their sales.
