I'm not really buying the "let's keep the games different so people will buy both" theory some of you guys have. Because EA could still put things like progressive lighting and dreadlocks in both games and differentiate them with various game play modes.

If this is the truth, and I don't think it is (read on for my theory), then it's just ridiculous. My theory is that the two teams compete against one another and that is probably encouraged by EA. In competition instead of sharing you want to hoard features. In my opinion this is what's happening and why we aren't seeing features crossing between the games as it should.

Regardless of the reason I'd just like to say I THINK IT'S COMPLETELY STUPID AND NEEDS TO STOP. EA - share the basics with each other. Get progressive lighting in Madden, Dreadlocks in NCAA, etc, etc, etc!!

I'd be willing to bet it's the exact same or slightly altered code that is used for certain enhancements that you'd see in madden one year and excluded from NCAA the same year, and vice versa.

Do you really think, that the 2 development teams waste their time recoding to add the same feature to their games (madden/ncaa)?

That being said, it's pretty obvious to me that marketing is behind excluding certain features that are swapped back in forth *exclusion/included* between the two games.

This is the same reason, that some features, not all, are excluded/removed and/or re-added years down the road. I believe many of them are held out so the game has a selling point the next year.

I dont know it looks like they my have got togather and fixed the imported draft classes this year. Which may be telling us they may try to go ahead and do it like its done in real life, By opening up the importing by sending all the players leaving school that year to Madden. This feature would let us choose that good but not great HB from any school that may have ran for 1800 yards with 17 TD'S but didnt make it into madden because his rating was only a 75 or less.
