Where's the grit? The all too clean graphics give Madden a synthetic look.

The graphics in madden looks sharp, clear and crisp. The problem is, while trying to make the graphics amazing, EA forgot what the visuals are trying to represent. The graphical representation is too sharp, textures are too clean and smooth. Both gameplay and cut-scenes *fans and players* have dont' really have a life like look to them. The colors are too bright, most things have a cookie cutter *perfect* look to them.

I'm not asking EA to make things sloppy, they just need to use more life-like textures, shapes, and lighting. Even messy games in madden have a *perfect* messy look to them. I also hope someday we get rid of the static looking uniforms.

I THINK I get the jist of what you're saying, I just don't have a visual reference in my head to make a qualified judgement. At the end of the day we aren't looking at celluloid, but pixels on a screen.

The graphics are actually a positive in Madden. They should fix many other things before worrying about graphics anytime soon.

The game looks great.

However, I would sacrifice a bit of the on field quality for non-cardboard sidelines. Do what 2K did, however they did it, for APF.

This topic isn't about other problems so please don't bring them up. This is about the graphical representation of the game, Also it has nothing to do with a "good" the graphics are. It's the realism of the graphics.

I was just thinking the same thing. I watched a real life Bush Kick return then the Madden one and it just looked so different. The real life one was darker and grittier. Then the Madden one was so bright and so clean. I completely agree with what your saying. Its probably not one of the important parts, but if they ever wanted to improve the graphics this is an area the could focus on.

Not a big issue but its something which really stands out for me.

Ok, we all know there are other problems that's not the point of this thread, It's the current style of the graphics. I could go into ever single topic discussed in this forum and spam it with posts about How something else should be addressed.

And again this isn't about how many polygons the game boosts or how many grass blades are there. It's how true to life the graphics style look.

For example, Toy story the movie has amazing computer generated graphics, however they have a synthetic looks which fits the movie. Madden is supposed to mirror real life/ alive graphics. Graphical prowess of the next-gen systems have nothing to do with the graphical STYLE I.E. Textures, Colors, Warmth, Contrast, Shadows..etc

This is more of a question the of the choices used by the madden artists themselves.

LMFAO. I love how people come up with new complaints about madden everytime you turn around. I think the graphics look nice bro. I see nothing wrong withit.
