They turned it off because people just held it all the time which would make the new locomotion less evident.

I've had plenty of practice on the NCAA demo. It's not automatic for me anymore.

I think that's a good move. The sprint button was a mess. I know that last year they said that if you used it too soon your blockers just left their engagement. Too many guys would get frustrated using it right when they got the ball anyway and it didn't encourage anyone to try and follow blocks. Not having it on is a much better idea, IMHO.

The game 'auto turbos' now, which I believe is why we don't see proper footwork on the faster speeds. They need to do away with the speed boost completely. I base this off of what I'm seeing in the NCAA 2011 demo.

Funny, I posted this exact same thing in a few other threads that were praising this years locomotion feature. I even posted a link to the locomotion vid from 09 on Gametrailers, and was blasted because everyone seems to think that "Locomotion" in Madden 11 is an entirely new engine built from the ground up for Madden 11. In either case, they have made a big deal in the past about features that were considered new that were in previous versions of the game. They simply thought people wouldn't notice or remember.

Like I asked someone else, have you played the NCAA 11 demo? This Locomotion is definitely not the same as 09.

While you're on the right track, you aren't really hitting the mark. I think this year they are doing what they wanted to do in 09, but just couldn't, I guess. Then again, NCAA 11 feels completely different than Madden 09 (which is good) so it's hard to even say it's directly inspired by that engine. Either way, don't be fooled into thinking you are playing something old.
