Ok 1) Dallas Clark owns any LB one on one, seriously do you really think a pass rush LB knows when to snap his head around if the TE bursts off the LOS as if he's running a fly then breaks it off 5 yards for the out....hell no! Should he be in position to tackle after getting burnt...hell no! Clark burns nickels week in week out IRL and your cncern is you saw Brian Thomas get beat...yawn real crisis for sure.

As far as Cromartie getting burnt, he hasn't lived up to the hype after his ONE stellar season in 07-08, he's been getting beat and living off his name ever since, which is the reason Jammer, and Cason are still in San Diego. Cromartie I like so don't get me wrong, he's over-rated his height 6'2" and speed and athleticism make up a lot of what he's been able to do as a DB, he's no shutdown guy. A. Gonzalez is a legit number two WR I have no qualms with him beating Cromartie from time to time. I bet it wasn't upside of two times in a row.

I've been testing all the DB's on the demo Revis (expectedly), Cromartie, and Leonard have great reaction to the ball in the air (on AP and AM). I think the OP's concern is unfounded.

Damn fellas in NCAA man defense is too tight, but the moment we see a top five TE beat a pass rusher, the damn skies falling and there's "a SERIOUS problem with man defense" wtf is this forum coming too. Damn. Can I get a positive response to the demo...? Seems lately all people do is get their female dog on, the demo offers some nice qualities as well. No I'm not a fanboy i still prefer the 2K titles, but since this is all I have and IT IS better than last year why cry about stuff that is not a legit problem. I saw some warp blocking in the demo, but all I see are "S-pad, Qb Scrambling, and Man Coverage" threads.

Re: Man coverage has some SERIOUS issues!

I think the man coverage is ok, its the zone that needs patched like yesterday. When I have someone running a deep post or streak from the slot, the FS sees him but decides to run away from him.

In general the safties do not hold to their responsibilities. The overall defense in this DEMO, is making me not want to buy the game.

Re: Man coverage has some SERIOUS issues!

I've noticed this too, but in coverage across the board. I was wondering why there were so many pass plays wide open (on both sides) and when in replay I noticed that on several plays the DB just flat out missed the cut and kept going straight back for several yards.

The only DB I haven't seen that happen to in the demo was Revis, so it might just be that the route-running/agility/whatever ratings are just over-tweaked this year. I know they wantd to better separate the players, so it might be one of those good ideas that got goofed.

Hopefully it's a demo issue or at least something that ratings adjustments can remedy. I know that doesn't help the online guys, so hopefully whatever the issue is, it can be looked at.

On a side note (maybe related, maybe something else) the flats seem awfully easy to get passes in again. Now, this is with the Colts, but still...I can hit Addai for 6-8 yards on nearly every play. This is on both All-Pro and All-Madden.

EDIT: and as pjv31 said, the safeties are a mess too. Defense does seem pretty flawed.

Yeah they desperately need to tighten up the coverage. I cannot deal with high school football AI, and having passing wide open all game. Its simply not realistic. There is usually a day 1 patch so lets hope thats in there. If it is, then I am buying for sure, because there are a ton of other great improvements this year.

Man I'm glad you guys don't work on the game...

The insanely slow reaction is horrendous for even the WORST LBer in the NFL. I can react better than that.

But fine, explain THIS scenario to me:

Dallas Clark runs to the flat and stops at the sideline.
B. Thomas overshoots this route and continues to run OUT OF BOUNDS about 7 yards.. pretty much runs right over to the gatorade table before he stops to turn back to Clark.

So you're telling me, that D. Clark is SO GOOD at his route running that he makes defenders think that he can catch balls out of bounds? I mean how stupid is B. Thomas that he's thinking... OH GOD, I GOTTA MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T CATCH THIS BALL BY OUR BENCH!!

Seriously, before you make a comment think about what you're saying. D. Clark is good, but he's not Jedi Mind trick good. The reaction of even the worst LBer wouldn't be this ridiculous.

THIS is a problem in the game plain and simple.

I hate these reactions. You don't read the entire post, you don't analyze the situation, and jump to some conclusion that people are crying foul with no reason. If you spend a second to analyze the example I posted, you'd see that there is a real issue here. No where did I say that B. Thomas should successfully cover D. Clark. All I'm saying is that the scenarios where he gets burned are completely unrealistic no matter who the TE is and no matter who the LBer is.

yea on top of QBs being so good i wrote a post earlier put any QB in on the roster and throw all the passes you made with Manning and you wont see 1 bit of difference. Coverage has got to be tightened up .

Hey, jw if you would mind trying my sliders. I had a similar problem as you did, so it would be awesome for you to try them out and be happy with the demo.

I don't mind trying your sliders, but I usually just play on-line, so sliders wouldn't really be an option for that
