Do we need an Overall Rating?

i think madden should do away with it. Lets the attributes for specific positions determine how good a player is. This will also allow for us to find specific players to fit into our offensive and defensive schemes.

How do you propose they sort the CPU depth charts?

It's an interesting idea... The CPU would sort their depth charts by what each team is looking for at that position, such as the Colts would look more at SPD when selecting a DE.

Re: Do we need an Overall Rating?

Yes, but if they do this then they need to have the stats sorted by relevance. It would be VERY tedious to scroll through all 30 stats to find the ones that actually matter to the position.

And if you playing online substitutions can be tedious too

It would be extremely hard to do depth charts, substitutions, etc.
