Has the D-Pad been completely removed???

I dont recall seeing anything about this in the write ups about the game, but I was shocked to start my first game and find that I wasnt able to control any of my players once the ball was kicked off or snapped. After a few plays, I figured out what the problem was, and went into the controller settings. I messed around with it for a long time, but couldnt find how to set it back to using the D-Pad instead of the analog stick to move on offense and defense.

Has the ability to control players the traditional way been removed? And if so, why in the world would they do that? Can it be patched back into the game?

I can tell you that having never used the stick to control players in the game before, I really played like garbage. Its especially a problem on defense when I cant switch to a lineman or linebacker close to a RB and move sideways to tackle him.

IDK,I like the dpad,it does what its suppose to do,speed up the game,i can do what i want in a matter of seconds and I' ve been playing madden for years.I can use either setup but if EA is going this route, might as well get use to it,not hard really.

I suppose thats a matter of opinion. I feel like I have almost no control over where the players are going. Its really frustrating.

Aren't analog controls standard as of the PS2 controller years ago?

I prefer the D-Pad. I had the same thing happen to me. My players weren't moving when I used it then I used the left stick and they move. I don't like that at all.

We don't need another dpad/ stratpad thread. there's an option to go back to old preplay controls that will be patched in
