Madden 25 Having Realistic Stats & Aging
I haven't actually seen anything pertaining to this(I figure because it's not that big a deal). But one of my biggest pet peeves in Madden 13 is realistic stats and aging players.
For example, I understand the 49ers have one of the best defenses in the nfl. But everytime I play them, should they have 5+ FF on me? Should they end the season EVERY year with 50+ FF? I know the 49ers are good, but even they don't force multiple fumbles EVERY game.
I understand AP is the best runningback in the NFL. But every year in my CCM why does he have 1700+ yards with an 8+ carry average all the way until he's 35?
Why is the nfl record for highest YPC 6.4(set by Jim Brown), but every year around 5 backs or so average 7+ yards a carry?
The NFL is moving to a passing game no doubt, but having 4-5 QB's throw for 50+ touchdowns each year seems a little ridiculous.
What I'm asking is, can we make stats sorta realistic in and out of games. I hate when both Sean Lee and Bruce Carter both end the season with 60 or less tackles and they both played all season. Sean lee played 6 games this year and he almost had 60 tackles so why not get more than 60 through the course of the year. I also find it kind of funny that it doesn't matter who I play for or how terrible someone's pass defense is. Their slot corners(third on the depth chart) will end the season with 14+ picks almost every time. It's insane haha.
But that's my problem with stats, my other problem is with players aging. It doesn't show. Brian urlacher is 37 in my 3rd CCM yet he moves like he's 24. He's unbeatable when throwing over the middle and he NEVER misses a tackle.
I think this has more to do with the way the game engine is set up. You have 300 pound lineman dropping back into coverage and swiveling their hips like they're 180 pound corners, making for some very infuriating interceptions. It doesn't really take into account all of those things. It just goes by raw player ratings, which really should decrease significantly when players start getting older.
But having 30+ year old runningbacks and MLB's signing 50 million dollar contracts is a little absurd.
So hopefully, in some parallel universe, EA is listening and will do something about this and then open a wormhole to our universe and grace us with this design.
P.S. I shouldn't have 2-3 players every week out with abdominal tears. Do people really not know how to lower their pad levels in the NFL? They just like taking rib shots all the time?
