Prime example of how Madden's challenge system should work.

In the Dolphins @ Vikings game, Favre throws a ball to Harvin a couple of inches in front of the goal line...Harvin is falling as he's trying to catch it and ends up batting the ball in the air; eventually the ball is picked off by Davis (who's lying on his back) and Harvin touches him before he gets up and takes off eventually running out of bounds, where the ball ends up being spotted.

Childress challenges the interception and after review the officials rule it an INT but they change the spot of the ball to where Harvin touched Davis before he got up to run. Minny didn't lose a team timeout. Moral of the story? Just get it right.

I often see people saying they want NFL 2K's challenge system where you can chose specific aspects of the play to challenge. But in the end that really doesn't matter because when there's a review the ref's only have one job... just get it right regardless of what was actually challenged.

EAs challenge system needs a complete and utter overhaul but I hope they go about it in the right way. Being able to challenge one aspect of the play to benefit from while ignoring another aspect that might hurt your cause isn't "realistic." But obviously square one is just getting the game to determine the outcome of challenges correctly to begin with.

The funny thing is with all that batting around it really looks like madden. Just because in madden it doesn't seem logical it doesn't mean that the NFL plays can't become wicked cheesy
