Well a very unusual thing happened to me yesterday...just started a game in franchise after yesterday's update..when the game momentarily froze and then the system proceeded to shut off...annoyed i went to reboot and received the msg from the main menu about the system not shutting down correctly and to properly shut down ...so I did...the system froze again at the main menu...i rebooted again..this time the system wouldnt even start up..it would automatically shut down upon start up...now i cant even get the disc out...i researched this online and found an ENTIRE NATION of console users suffering from YLOD and RLOD...i was shocked...

Anyone else experience flashing red light of death while playing madden..apparently harddrive issue?? my console was not overheated..just started playing....

Any fix ideas???

That's what happens when you try to play 360 games on a Blue Ray.

That's exactly what happened to my PS3. Unfortunately, replacing the power supply is the only solution. Otherwise, it's caput.

Yup, ive heard of they yellow light of death, one of my friends got it, but atleast its fixable. I dont believe it comes up on slim though. Also, the frequency is tens of times less than the red wring of death on xbox.

Had the RROD 2 times, and "Disc read error" with my Xbox 360's, and recently had the YLOD about 3 months ago. But here i sit $299 later with slim PS3 and 6 month old 360. Couldnt be happier

YLOD is inevitable on the original ps3s due to bad solder. i've also heard of it happening with the 40s. but i've never even heard of the RLOD.

Actually the flashing red is the YLOD..same thing...in any event ..i found a guy 5mins from me who's fixed several of them successfully...it is an older model 60gig..but has worked flawlessly until now...we'll see..

I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.
