helmets come off

do helmets still come off in madden? i know in the older maddens you could knock someones helmets off. it was a sweet touch. if it's not in there they should definately bring it back. that and the occasional shoe coming off would be awesome. it's those little things that make the game.

Yea, they never made it to next gen, perfect animation for a good hit stick hit though, especially with the improved player likenesses.

Re: helmets come off

It shouldn't happen in the real NFL either... but some dunderheaded players insist on wearing helmets that don't properly fit and/or not properly tightening the chinstraps. Your head should be removed from your neck before a properly fastened helmet should pop off.

Yes, I saw some come off Sunday that were oversized (you could tell by how easily they put them back on), but nowadays the top of the chinstraps are actually screwed or bolted in on alot of helmets by the equipment staff, but the snaps on the lower straps keep giving way. Those are what they are from the manufacturers although its common to swap out the orig chinstraps for ones from other manufacturers a player might prefer, and I reckon there could be some minor size differential between manufacturers, but doubt it. Think the power and angle of the hits and the grabbing and dirty stuff accounts for most of it.
