FYI, the ratings in "Play Now" are not the team's "true ratings." Go start a new franchse and look at everyone's new team ratings. You will quickly see they do not match up with their "Play Now" counterparts. "Play Now" team ratings are fake and set by Donny Moore. they change to a more "real rating: when you make roster changes and re-order the depth chart.

For example, with the current update from last week, the 49ers are a 77OVR team in Play Now. Go start a franchise and they are an 84OVR team.

To add more to this, when playing "play now" your coaching schemes will not be in affect. If you want to see how a team really is you need to play with them in franchise. Essentially all teams are equal in play now and you go strictly by player ratings and the coaches has no influence at all.

yeah i think that alot of people will now be using the vikes online. more than before. they should also be a NFC championship lock for the first year in almost any franchise.

I added Moss to the Vikings in a franchise that's at the current timeframe in the actual NFL (using it to sim games week to week) and simmed the season out of curiosity... the Vikings went 14-2 with him, running the gauntlet after losing their first two games. They beat the Colts in the Super Bowl. O_o

the funny thing is if the cpu made a trade in franchise like the pats did we would flip out about the trade logic. just goes to show you any thing can happen at any time. actually we would probably be happy just to see the cpu trade.

You mean just like all the other ratings in the game?

Team ratings and overall ratings are both fake in Madden, so don't pay too much attention to them. If the guys in your depth chart have great individual ratings for their position, then a 75 overall team can be a lot better than a 85 overall team.

Team and overall ratings in Madden are just bling-bling, that are manipulated to give an illusion of bigger and better.
