Does a higher threshold increase the games difficulty

Does anyone know if highering the threshold actually brings the players speed closer. I know it states this in the menu but it seems to me that the threshold slider is not as responsive as the one in ncaa 11. Im trying to make the cpu pass defense more effective. I already have the cpu reaction at 100. thanks

Re: Does a higher threshold increase the games difficulty

I would assume yes. I think higher threshold allows for other ratings other that speed come in to play. Because players speeds are closer, ball carrier vision, route running, break tackle, elusiveness are important because u just aren't out running everybody....linebackers and safeties are quicker to cover flats and pile up on plays creating imo more pro tack moments.....coverage is tighter so qb's accuracy is important b/c they have smaller windows to put the ball into...so instead of players being high school open...they have to be NFL open...in other words, good players are forced to make good plays.

In my opinion, yes and no. If your WRs and DBs are slower than your opponent, then increasing the threshold should mean less speed difference so makes it a little easier. But if your team is quicker, then you have less advantage so that should make it a little harder.

I would say it makes it more difficult in that you have less big plays. You won't have many breakaway runs and the pass defense is a little tighter though you can still get big plays, for instance,by audibling to a quick slant when the defense loads up 8-9 in the box.
