Wouldn't one tend to think that ESPN NFL Football would be getting more air time on ... ESPN!! Instead they are showing one Madden commercial after another.

I know it is about money to a high degree, but how can Sega expect to fully leverage the ESPN brand name with EA Sports all over ESPN?

EA is really striking heavy here with their ad campaign, The commercials are presented better than the 5 second ESPN ones as well IMO.

I remember someone on these boards posted that back in the day, EA had a "ESPN-esque" sports network interface. Something like EASN or something. ESPN sued but they settled. Evidently part of the agreement included free ad space on ESPN......

Sucks for Sega. Not only do they still have to pay for ad space on the network they already pay for licensing, but their no. 1 competitor gets the same space for free.

Say fellas which game comes out next week? MADDEN. So this is the time to really promote for that game! When does ESPN comes out? Sept. 4 so there is no need to advertise heavily right now when the competition is running their heaviest advertising compaign.

True but to those who know SEGA like alot of us here do. We know they dont market there games very well and this could be there ad market for there game......

I expect EA to be on More than ESPN Football now they are more of a marketing powerhouse and just because they sport the ESPN logo doesn't mean free and frequent commercial time, especially when another person is willing to pay for that same spot.

Madden works for the ESPN networks. He is on Countdown every Monday and on ABC Monday Night Football, he draws diagrams with his own game Madden NFL 2004. Ofcourse it will get more pub.

Sega will get the pub when September hits but Madden has been pubbed since April and the NFL Draft.

Damnit I wish Madden could just take the ESPN license away Sega, so Madden could have all the cool overlays, graphics, and music
