Can someone please tell me something good about Madden 04?

I am here at work tryin to pass some time before I pick up madden 04 later today.....and I'm reading all these posts about "disappointment" "same ol' madden zzzzzzz", "I'm bored with madden", "madden 04, a letdown"......and its kinda killing the excitement I had earlier about picking up the game. I'm already bummed out about the xbox draft class problem, and I can't seem to find anybody on these boards who actually likes the game...so that's making it worse.

I didn't play too much madden last year....didn't play more than 6 games in my franchise due to the dirty disk errors i recieved. I played the HELL out of nfl 2k3 which I thought was a great game....played about 5 seasons, the most I ever played any in franchise.......(I'll more than likely still be getting ESPN football---I just can't resist it)

But I wanted to get madden this year for a "change of pace" and since I didn't play that much of it last year, shouldn't I be able to enjoy this years madden even more, since it's going to be kind of "fresh"?


Anyway, I just wanted somebody to post what's good about this years madden so I can have some positive reading before I go pick up the game.....I mean, it's not that bad is it?

Well for starters the impression thread up top should help.But I hear you tho, its been nothing but negative comments and nothing reeally positive. I was gonna start a positive thread but I think it may be locked because it should belong in the sticky.

But I absolutly love the game. After 3 games last night(without playing franchise yet) I can say that the gameplay is defetnitly improved. The playmaker is awesome. And the DB AI has now been improved. No longer can you throw into triple coverage with ease. Although I could use some good sliders. The playcalling interface is a little bunched together and you'll need a few games to start reconizing where everything is at. But the gameplay is the usual Madden afair with more animations this year than ever.

But I can already see that the owners mode will be what everybody is gonna play, its deep, I mean deep.

Don't forget that many negative posters are people that wanted to see Madden fail. They're the NFL2K4 guys who come over here and say "madden sucks" etc... It happened during baseball and it's happening now. Too many people find the need to bash another game because they enjoy it's competition. Let's just say these people need that morale boost for some reason.

I'm enjoying Madden so far. And I'm a guy who bought 3 different baseball games and will buy ESPN football when that comes out as well. I like to have some options! So don't always believe what you read.

Exactly!

When they release their game and parts do not live up to the hype, you will see the same type of negetivity that is seen on this board now. Gamers Hype

When advertised features don't work (draft classes), That's a problem.
