I traded Portis for warren sapp and now my RB is Quntin Griffin on the broncos, I continually kick ace with him and take names, Im averaging over 100 yards per game and at least one TD per game. But his overall rating stays at 64. Do players not gradually get better as the season progresses?

They will progress after Minicamp, after preseason, and after the end of the season..

As a Bronco fan I am ashamed of you trading away Portis for Porker.

Just kidding. Why don't you play franchise mode and in the training camp use Quentin Griffin and earn some medals and manually boost his ratings?

I am in frachise mode. so skipping preseason and training camps weren't a good idea I see. But if my stats kick ace all year the players overall rating will be better at the end of the year??????

BTW portis has a freaking attitude, I can't stand him hes no terrel davis. And QG is from OU so I had to play with him.
