lol I thought that beta thing was funny, but this seems to be a big problem for the WHOLE LEAGUE ITSELF.

Thats bad for EA and yea they seemed like they rushed. The should have polished alot more.

MAdden 2004 is really starting to piss me off from what you guys say. I haven't started my Franchise yet but I been hearing lots of problems... a big DAMN.

Re: Potentially serious roster AI issue

also, what are you guys hitting at the end of the off-season when it says "Unassisted users depth charts" message? the options are "Continue" "Re-order all" and "cancel". I always (and in past maddens as well) click continue. and like i said i have realistic depth charts. maybe you guys are hitting re-order all and it's randomizing the depth charts? anyways, i haven't had this problem (as i stated 2 posts above). mvplaya start your franchise before you get pissed off at the game when it hasn't happened to you yet

This is nothing new. This has existed since Madden 2002. How the hell do you guys just catch this two years later? I've seen this happen for the past two years, nothing new.

You might be able to fix this when you play against the teams. Switch over to the CPU team and sub in the right people and then switch back to your team.

I haven't tried it because I'm at work, but this should work. Of course this does nothing for the rest of the games...

I agree that this was in last year's game. I don't mind seeing the young guys getting in there and playing. If a team drafts a QB in the 1st round, you usually see that guy starting in his second season unless the starter is a 90+ rated superstar.

It's never been to this extreme before, especially with several big name CPU QBs being sat out. If this isn't a big deal for you, fine, but for some of us it makes franchise mode a major pain in the ***.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever that EA spent so much time on boosting its franchise mode with the new owner stuff (which is very cool) and then failed to add the things that make franchise mode complete--the AI owners in this game are just plain dumb. Actually, that's not true. They're nearly non-existant. And yes this has always been a problem but it doesn't make it any less important. Why doesn't the AI sign moderately rated FAs during the year even when they have oodles of cap space? Why doesn't the AI place players on the IR when they are out for the year and then sign someone to take the roster spot? Why doesn't the CPU trade with itself? This isn't rocket science folks, a lot of sports games do this stuff and there's simply no reason why Maddden with its uber-budget doesn't. Then there's this depth chart snafu. Still, some people could care less and that's their perrogative, but some people are getting a tad tired of the new bells and whistles when the old bells and whistles still need polishing.

End vent.
