His GRAPHICS CARD has 128, his system has 512.

I have a similar system except my P4 is 2.4 @ 3.0 and I have a GF4 4600 with 128 of ram...but I play madden on the consoles

Ahh crap - Kick me in the nuts - sorry.

Still with 512 you should do ok - I have 1024 and there are no stutters, but I realize that it is necessary if you want to max out the graphics to have 1024 RAM or higher and make sure you are running Windows XP as older versions of Windows have problems controlling more than 400MB RAM.

What the hell are you talking about? Unless your doing video editing or professional audio you do not need more than 512mB of ram.

For the original poster I will tell you to make shure your hardrive has speeds of 7200rpm.

Also make shure to defrag your hardrive

CLose all applications when playing video games, even screen savers must be turned off.

Make shure you habe downloaded the lastest drivers for your video card.

Running windows xp? If so make shure you have all of the latest updates.

Your cpu might be overheating?
Is it well ventilated?
How many watts is your power supply?
What is the refresh rate on your monitor?

I mean I can think of about more than 20 things , but get back to me on what I've asked so your system can run at a higher setting

, peace

Yeah, well, its not exactly top of the line, but its a bad *** computer nonetheless, and it SHOULD handle it. Wasnt it you, Brian, that had the 1.5ghz processor + whatever else there was and the game was running perfect?

See, the thing is, I shouldnt HAVE to upgrade my computer like that if yours is running perfect.

Anyways, yes, to the other poster, that IS why I have 512mb RAM, my bro is getting into directing and he needs all that for video editing.....we have 200gb hard drive.

Yeah, there was a list on the Madden2004.com message boards, and I just refer to that on what I need to keep running before I start playing. Refresh rate on the monitor I believe is 90. I'm not sure on that, but we've toned it down to 70 on the Madden settings. Yeah, we have all the necessary and newest drivers for the graphics card and necessary service things for XP. I dont know how many watts the power supply is. Its pretty well ventilated (We always have a window open, and the window is right by the comp, plus we have a fan blowing in the room 24-7). I'll tell my bro the suggestions about defrag and the hard drive (its his comp so I dont wanna mess with it).

THANKS A LOT for your suggestions.
