i think EA fixed some AI issues
the reason i stopped playing madden was that it never recognized tendencies. you could call the same 5 plays and 2 defenses and win easily. now it seems, that has been fixed. when i started playing i could throw outs without it stopping me. it seems the CPU is stopping that now. my first drive is almost always a TD but things get harder after that. i may be reading too much into it but it does feel like that is the case. if this is true you will be always needing to adjust making the game different each time.
this, by the way, is what has been at the crux of the sega/ea argument. this feature has been in thier game for several years and is what has set it apart for me. you have to know your playbook and assignments and constantly mix up your calls or you cant win when the CPU can do this. that has been sadly missing till this year in madden.
i dont think maddens ai is equal to segas yet. the defendive ai so far seems equal to nfl 2k2 for dreamcast but it is a step in the right direction and will keep me playing longer than i ever did before.
