Blocking Hot Routes? (Xbox Version)

I got through watching the Madden 101 flicks and noticed that you could assign your RB or FB to block for your QB [pre-snap] to pick up the blitz. I've tried to do what they say on the movie but I can only change the route of my number one receiver.(hitting the L1 and R2 doesn't work) It's cool because you can set them to block to the left (white button) or right (black button). I've tried doing it on running plays and passing plays but can't get it to work. This would really save my QB if I can pull this off.

hit Y to call up hot routes, then hit the button for the RB, FB, or TE, then hit white/black to put him into a blocking route. Only TE's and guys in the backfield can block like that though, on WRs, the white/black button is slant/corner.

Does it show up on the screen like in the demo? If it doesn't, then I must be missing the blocking route. I did this and my FB just blocked up the middle in stead of picking up the blitzing safety coming at my backside.

bump, I'd really like to know if anyone with the Xbox version has gotten this to work like the demonstration. I can't select my backs before the snap. I have an injury prone stud QB and would like to have him in my lineup.

It works just fine on my Xbox.

It also will show up when you do the Coach Cam. (R trigger)

Hit Y for Hot Routes.
Hit Letter for HB,FB,TE... L,R,A etc..
then hit the White to block Left
or Black to block right.


Also look at your Manual on pg 13 at the bottom.

Also you may set the HB to block, but he still might miss the blitz.
Ive set the Hb to block the right side blitz coming, and he completely missed and I got drilled.

Its all about his AWR, and Pass Blcok skills.
