What is a QB Spy?

What exactly is QB Spy defense. Some defense situations will have a LB in a QB Spy (with an orange circle around them), but I don't know exactly what it is QB Spy has my LB do. I'm guessing it's just reading the QB and reacting whether its a run or a pass, but does anyone have any better info? Thanks in advance.

A spy just watches the QB and goes whereever he goes. Its mainly to prevent the QB from taking of and running with the ball. However, spies also watch the eyes of the qb and are often able to get ints from drag routes.

Thx. So basically any time I'm facing a highly mobile QB, I should use these plays more (on in any situation where I feel the QB may run).

This was basically what I thought it was, but I just wanted to make sure.

In Theory it does.

The Double Spy works pretty well though, but you shouldn't use it every down, just once and awhile.

I used the 4-4 spy with the other MLB blitzing on NCAA 2004 and took the blitzer and spied with him as well to stop Marcus Vick... seemed to work.
