I've heard about 50 different sources, telling me that 'foot-planting' is present in Madden 12, and another 50 telling me It's not. This might honestly might affect my decision to by the game, so I ask to you guys: is it in the game?
If you mean, can people still just sprint forward left and forward right and lose no momentum, then yes, that is still there. The foot planting is present when you want to cut (but you never would because turning the left stick from side to side is more effective).

Re: Madden 12 'Foot-Planting'

Is there zero foot planting in the game? No, that's not accurate. That would mean that you never see it under any circumstances.

You will see it under a few extremely remote circumstances, but nowhere near enough that you could classify the locomotion in this game as anywhere near even slightly pseudo realistic.

I just meant is momentum present on cuts i.e can u cut from left to right w/o a loss of speed, and pendo already answered for me

In short, no, it looks like ncaa 11, not madden 05.

This is why I think maybe this issue can be adjusted. From watching videos it doesn't appear to be related to any animation, but rather the rotation of the player...

Maybe they could have it so it didn't rotate so much, especially when running at higher speeds, so as to minimize the floatiness... The zig-zagging... Ice skating, or whatever you want to call it.

From watching the videos it seems like when moving up field, and then from side to side, it's not so much an animation that is causing it to look and feel off... But rather the large degree to which the player rotates, causing him "float" or "skate" to either side as the animation propels him towards the direction rotated to...

So if the player rotated less... It would be more realistic.

Who knows...

Re: Madden 12 'Foot-Planting'

that vid was criminal, i wonder if this is what people think responsive controls are. because i hear complaints that players were un responsive and people felt they could not control their players but this is bad if this is the solution..

Re: Madden 12 'Foot-Planting'

Maybe playing on the slow setting might help?
