This is brought up every year along with Fevers passing.
I always mention wanting a new passing system an reference Fever. Fevers was nice but needed just a bit of fine tuning. I know some wouldn't like it but when you had a good passing game in you really felt like you accomplished something.
I still have it and play it from time to time...

What they can also do is when using QBs with low mediocre attributes, the cross-hair targeting system could be more difficult to pinpoint.

I loved NFL Fever 2004. Game was amazing and Read N Lead was ahead of its time. Its really sad Microsoft shut down their sports division so soon. The feature did need some fine tuning but it was definitely something worth writing about.

With the way Madden's mechanics work now, i don't know if Read N Lead will work out but it's worth a try for the future

No thank you. As the video demonstrates the usage of the read'n'lead passing system, it also illustrates one of the fundamental flaws in it. Receivers in NFL Fever are just as psychic as the receivers in Madden, as you can lead the ball anywhere (say, 10 yards off target) and they still adapt on the fly with their backs turned to the QB.

A read'n'lead system would only work if combined with a route based passing system, in my opinion, so you're limiting the user input to how far ahead on the route you want to throw and not given complete freedom to throw anywhere. Personally, however, I would still prefer a pure route based passing system.

Even if they went back to route based passing, it would be huge. Throwing with timing as the WR makes their break instead of now where you have to wait until they are coming out of their break.
