Depth Chart Upgrade

I did read that depth charts will be better this year than in years past but man do I hope they are leaps and bounds over NCAA's depth charts. After paying year one of my dynasty I saw terrible depth charts by the cpu, tackles playing fb w/ 55 rated speed, starting tight ends at the 4 slot reciever, everything is messed up with the offensive line, line backers, corners, and safeties, even the majority of the kickers playing both kicker and punter even though the punter is rated over 80. I know that there are college players that play several positions but man the depth charts are all over the place.

In Madden 11, I always saw the computer use their kicker at both the kicker and punter spot. I also always saw stupid things like: starting a CB at safety, starting a safety at linebacker, etc.

Depth chart issues date back REALLY far, too. Reminds me when I played NFL 2K5, the Steelers made Jerome Bettis their kick returner lol. If they fix depth chart logic, it'd be HUGE in my opinion, because every sports game seems to have problems like this.

The CPU will do this when they have someone better. If your kicker is a 60 OVR and your punter is rated a 65 OVR as a kicker, they'll use the kicker. Same with safeties in the CB position.

and that's why I hope they got rid of this for 12. Put players in their proper positions regardless of their overall rating.

It kinda gets old going back into the depth chart and having to remove CB's from FS and TE's at WR every single season. Yes we know the back up LG isn't as good as the back up LT, but hello its called development.

Regarding 2K5, this glitch was due to the new depth chart that was implemented. When assigning players in the roster manager, it caused problems in-game because of that crappy depth chart. I say it to this day - if 2K5 had 2k3 and 2k4's depth chart, that glitch wouldnt exist. Either way, that problem can be fixed by assigning every player on every team in order of position, via Finns editor or by controlling all 32 teams in franchise.

As for Madden, I wish that they would eliminate the extra slots that get filled by players from a different position when you do auto re-order. I hate that. And of course, players should only play their respective position. Want a CB moved to FS, switch his actual position and problem solved but I hate it when I see a CB play FS or whatever. And seeing a kicker or punter act as the other too really drives me nuts. UGH.

this is nothin.
players play multiple positions all the time.
its common for SS's to move down to LOLB,TE's to play 4th WR, and kickers to kickoff

what needs to be addressed is 3-4 depth charts like 2k5 had.
#1 DT doesnt necessarily mean the top rated DT but the line clogger so the or DT and the DE's can get pressure
