Yes! I probably audible out of half of the PAs I call due to obvious blitzing.

Last year the Jets led the league in Zone Blitz frequency at 14.7%. There were only two teams that ran zone blitzes more than 10% of the time. There were 8 teams in the league that sent 6 pass rushers more than 10% of the time. The Saints led the league at 22.9% and the Eagles were second at 21%. The Bears were a distant third at 16%. With the way the play books are set up in EA football games the CPU is sending blitzers at least 60% of the time! Not even close to realistic.

Thankfully we have custom playbooks and can edit out plays like Engage Eight, double CB blitzes and the rest of the nonsense. Last year I created generic play books for each defense and offense and it made Madden a very enjoyable and even more realistic game. I'm starting to do the same with NCAA this year.

There are multiple issues in in NCAA and Madden but one of the biggest issues that has gone untouched over the last 10 years in the CPU play calling. It's abysmal at best. Options with slow QBs, blitzing way too often, poor late game clock management, four verticles, etc.

Take a look at the Madden playbooks from last year and notice how many times some version of Four Verticles is in every teams playbook. Pathetic. Between that play, Bench, and the WR corner play, the CPU hardly ever ran anything else in passing situations!
Those custom playbooks you speak off--can we download them from each other? I would like to try your method for myself this year.

Can't exactly remember Anax. If you check out the Game planning thread there are a lot of helpful hints in there though. The gameplay in Madden 11 was excellent with edited play books/gameplans.

The playaction is broken. Perhaps using the same formation will help but how life like is that!!

The risk of using the playaction is way too high. Getting sacked on PA is way way too high. I dont run it out of fear that even if i know im about to get hit i cant do anything about it.

You can have 200 yards on the ground and the LB will still go not bite on PA.

I also hate how the computer 'knows' what the type of play i called is.

Improved pocket, more solid in M12, wraps around really nicely
