Is the 3-4 fixed with double teams?

It looks like the the 3-4 finally runs somewhat authentically in Madden 12.

I did practice as the Patriots in the base 3-4, first with Haynesworth (96 strength) at right DE, and then with Andre Carter (76 strength) at right DE. I let the computer run a standard i-form blast left repeatedly. The RDE is double teamed every time with this play (LT and LG), and there is a noticeable difference with Haynesworth holding up the double team better compared to Andre Carter, making it harder to run with Haynesworth in. Everyone football fan knows a 255 lb player shouldn't be able to play defensive end in a 3-4, it looks like that is finally the case in Madden too.

while I agree with you and I think this definitely applies to run stopping, in 3 community user games so far I have had a terrible time getting to the QB with the 3-4 personnel of the chargers.

Im getting to many sacks it seems when running man to man and blitzing a linbacker or 2 in the 3-4 defense

It depends on the scheme, really. In the Wade Phillips 3-4, the NT is playing 1 gap, meaning he should shoot the gap and not occupy a double.
