How to see if you have the best draft class...
Obviously names will be different for you because they are randomized, but if you go into scouting, highlight potential, and press sort (X button on 360) twice, it will list the best players by potential, with those at the top having the highest potential.
The best draft class shows up with these positions as the top 10 in potential, and this class will always be in this order. That is how you will know you have it.
1-FS (3rd round)
2-LE (2nd round)
3-C (3rd round)
4-WR (1st round)
5-QB (4th round)
6-RG (3rd round)
7-TE (3rd round)
8-WR (3rd round)
9-HB (4th round)
10-K (7th round)
Here is a breakdown of the elite players
All these players have "A" potential (with the exception of one CB and a LT that can be moved to guard). They are listed by position with names (though the names will be different for you).
QB- 6'5" 229 (Brendan James) 4th round (81 OVR) Oregon This guy will become the best QB in the history of Madden, and he really sets this draft class above the rest. His potential rating has him rate out above Peyton Manning, either a 98 or 99 OVR. Mobile and will boast near perfect passing ratings.

HB- 5'9" 219 (Angelo Anthony) 4th round (82 OVR) Illinois Complete running back with great blend of speed, power, and elusiveness. A mix of AP and MJD.
FB- 6'1" 264 (Brandan Denman) 4th round (86 OVR) Miami Absolute bulldozer of a FB. He can also run the ball pretty well between the tackles, but his strength is blasting holes.
WR- 6'5" 230 (Cody Allen) 1st round (78 OVR) Midd Tenn St. Massive target that could even be moved to tight end. One of the top run blocking receivers in the league.
86 SPD, 80 STR, 95 AGI, 89 ACC, 61 AWR, 70 TRK, 77 ELU, 86 SPM, 90 JKM, 73 CTH, 90 RTE, 87 CIT, 84 SPC, 97 RLS, 88 JMP, 74 RBS
WR- 5'10" 183 (Easton Agurs) 3rd round (81 OVR) San Jose St. DeSean Jackson clone. Will tear apart defenses. AGI and ACC will progress to give him almost perfect speed ratings.
WR- 5'11" 180 (Kasey Kelly) 1st round (76 OVR) Tulane Will have perfect speed ratings when he progresses in his first offseason. Good truck rating as a WR to go with his elusiveness.
TE- 6'7" 245 (Cordero Clay) 3rd round (80 OVR) North Dakota Fastest TE in the league. Think Vernon Davis.

LT- 6'7" 331 (Kelo Hayes) 5th round (83 OVR) Hofstra Has the makings of an elite lineman. Has a high "B" potential but with a move to guard or RT, he boosts into "A" potential.
LG- 6'6" 321 (Greg Campbell) 5th round (73 OVR) N. Illinois Not exciting as a rookie, but great potential down the road. Has the ratings to be a mauler in the running game.
C- 6'2" 297 (Bryan Scott) 3rd round (65 OVR) Miami
Biggest progression of any player in the draft. He becomes a 99 OVR and best center in the league after coming in as a 65 OVR.
RT- 6'8" 310 (Parker Adams) 3rd round (81 OVR) Akron
Very solid tackle that is ready to start right away and progresses nicely into the low to mid 90s.

LE- 6'5" 304 (Garrod Rodriguez) 2nd round (83 OVR) Nebraska
Rates out above Haloti Ngata. Will be the best 3-4 end or tackle in the game when he progresses.
DT- 6'3" 307 (Duane Nix) 1st round (84 OVR) Iowa State
The next Nick Fairley. Great pass rush tackle for a 4-3 defense, and would also fit well at end in a 3-4.
ROLB- 6'1" 231 (Tay Crawford) 2nd round (77 OVR) West Virginia
Unique linebacker that will fit into 4-3 or 3-4 as he progresses. Move to the middle may make him more effective.
FS- 5'11" 201 (Alexander Monroe) 7th round (79 OVR) Oregon State
Progresses into low to mid 90s. Might be better suited for a move to CB to utilize speed and coverage abilities.
I may be mistaken, but doesn't your scouting staff's ability have to do with how accurate potential is measured? So if I was team X and you were team Y, the list might be in different order?
I don't understand. I thought draft classes auto-generated stats each time. You are saying the superstar players will be found in the same round every year? And the round you have listed next to each name, was that their 'projected' round to be drafted in?

Yes, they are projected in the same round every year. And yes I have repeated this several times with the same results each time. It holds true to all the draft classes.
The names are auto-generated and different every time, not the actual build of the player though.
I reloaded this class again using a different team, and the Kicker that is ranked 10th in potential jumped up to 6th when sorting potential. Every other position remained the same.
This could be a result of using a different team with a different scout, or could mean that players 6-10 have the exact same potential.
