Hey, just trying to figure something out here regarding the cap.
If you cut a player during "Cut Days," do you have to continue to pay his bonus ("cap penalty")? I
heard that you don't, but that's just one post, and there weren't any comments on it, so I'm not convinced.
Similarly:
a) If you trade a player, you don't have to pay their salary, but you are still on the hook for the prorated remaining bonus money.
b) If you RELEASE a player (NOT through cut days), you have to both pay their salary AND you're still on the hook for the prorated remaining bonus money.
Are these two correct?
It seems like, if this is true, Cut Days could be a very easy way to get out from under monster contracts. Obviously, you get nothing in return, but when navigating the salary cap in franchise mode, this could be a huge boon.
Anyone know?
