Is it about time we LOSE the MATRIX style Interceptions already??

Maybe I am in the minority here but I think I have simply had enough of these over the top matrix style freeze the screen kodak moment picks already.

Most notably are the ones which freeze the player about 12ft in the air making a practically once in a lifetime Lynn Swann/Willie Mays over the shoulder pick...I practically get one or 2 of these a game along with the leaping Stretch Armstrong LB pick to really drive me to just shut the game off.

And this post is not so much about addressing the kinds of picks we have been seeing over the years (because thats a whole nother issue that has been beaten to death and hopefully does get fixed)

But this is more about the over the top presentation of the screen pausing then rotoscoping. I dont know...Im just tired of it and almost feel likes it actually detracts from the fluidity of the play....I mean, is there really a need for it any more than that silly BOOM sound effect they intelligently removed on deep passes from a few years ago??

This is moving more and more to a sim style game, I would at least not mind to see an option to turn OFF WEBGEM style Picks in a setting or something. I think it would actually be cool to see the motion and perspective of the game stay constant on a pick and enjoy what ensues without any interruptions in gameplay.

What do you guys think?...Im surprised I havent seen this brought up before.

I dont think he is talking about throwing picks. Its more the pause that the game does to flip the screen when the defense initially snags the ball.

I agree that it is not very sim for time to stand still while the camera rotates but I dont know what the answer would be to allow for the camera to rotate around and not be too distracting

Picks, like big hits, are kinda over the top on the default settings. It's best to tone them down using sliders if you want more realism.

It's not just user picks either. I had a four pick game on default playing versus SD and Phillip Rivers, with three of them being leaping over the shoulder grabs by DBs who somehow saw the ball through the back of their helmet.

It does that to give the camera time to re adjust the angle without messing the players up.

Meh. I mean, that was the exception and not the rule. Like I say it's just a little over the top and easily toned down with sliders.

I have no problem with it at all.

This is nit picking.

It makes it easy for the player to adjust and prepare to return the int.

Otherwise it would be clunky and confusing with the sudden change of direction.
