Even if their projections are off, will the stats from their college ratings still carry over? Meaning regardless of projections will they still play better than a badly projected number 1 pick? Or will they play in Madden 12 as projected, the higher the better?

I'm not 100% sure what it is you're asking, but maybe this will help:

Imported drafts are ranked by their OVR rating. QB Andrew Luck, for example, tends to import somewhere between 83-85 OVR. There's a touch of randomness to exactly what his OVR imports as, but it's always low 80's, which is high enough for him to be projected to go in the top five, most of the time.

Regardless of whether he is actually drafted in the 1st round, or if you control all 32 teams for all 7 rounds, intentionally refusing to draft him, he'll still be an 80-something OVR.

My draft has Luck coming out as a 78 and projected in first round. I was hoping he would be ranked higher but now hopefully his potential is an A and I can actually draft him (lower then top 5) and sit him behind Smith for a year.

I actually went back and tweaked the NCAA rosters for year one to make sure that Luck came out ranked higher. The draft still had a lot of DEs in the top part of the draft for some reason, but at least Luck made the top 3. I can justify him sliding because the top 2 teams had decent QBs. But would've been nice if the CPU had thought enough to go trade for that franchise QB.
