I am pretty certain, but the majority of OSer's play offline franchise and barely dabble in competitive online matches. I was mainly an offline player until this year, and I wish I gave ranked online matches a chance in previous years.

Really enjoy the head to head chess match. What held me back all these years was not liking to lose and not knowing how to stop a player. Now, I love the challenge and look forward to stopping them later on. I have yet to lose a rematch, because most players only have one plan and cannot deviate from it even when losing.

Good point regarding the online play and honing your skillset. For me, I have always played solo (cpu) in franchise mode. Occasionally will talk someone else into sitting down and playing against me. For the way that I play the game, I am able to skip a version here and there...

I used to try and go back to other games to get a football "fix". Madden 11 didn't deliver for me last year and this year I've found I don't really need that fix anyways. After about 3 weeks of owning 12, it got shelved and has been collecting dust as usual with NG Madden, but there are so many great games out this year (Battlefield 3, MW3, Dead Island, Batman AC,) and my limited gaming time just means I have moved on.

12 is way better. No suction, less glitches, speed doesn't rule as much. Its not even close.
