Is this a low selling number for Madden'!!!

Keep in mind it's also only been out 22 weeks and usually sells another 1.5m or so between around now and when the next version is released based on the history of the previous titles.

Their earnings call for Q3 last year put Madden at 5.5m and they weren't specific in Q3 2010 citing sales going from down 17% in Q2 to only down 6% in Q3. The PS2 finally dying had the biggest impact on those numbers than anything else and could still be a factor this year.

6th best selling title in 2011 across all platforms, difficult to call that anything but healthy.

Considering that the NFL season is over and the hype is all but gone, i really dont think Madden is going to sell over 1.5 millon copies globally too reach Madden11 sales numbers. People have played the game seen what it is about, word of mouth have traveled and people are basically ready for 2013 now. Especially with other games like Mass Effect3 and baseball season upon us, people will be looking elsewhere unless they just a football junkie and cant help themselves. I think Madden has declined another year and all there efforts is too restore trust in 2013.

Who said it was going to reach Madden 11 numbers? It's doing well, but growth has been fairly stagnant if not down a little because PS2 losses have never been made up by next gen purchases. They certainly aren't crying over 5mil copies sold, and will move quite a few more between now and the next version - as they have every year.

You guys have forgotten how much they have made in downloadable content. That stuff is almost pure profit compared to manufacturing a disc, case, and cover art.
