Please stop fueling a fire that does not need any fueling.

Thanks
My statement was not actually directed at you, sorry.

There is time for faces and equipment later. Not to mention, there are always these screen shots of the players up close like that, but how often do you REALLY see those shots? Maybe during a cut scene (which is covered by the play call screen anyway) or maybe during on instant replay. However, it's very misleading because when you are actually, you know, PLAYING the game - it does not look like that, nor do you really see the player faces.

Having players look real is fine and I welcome it as an afterthought, but if they move and perform like robots or superhuman beings, it's all meaningless with regards to authenticity. Madden has always blown 2k out of the water with regards to graphics, it's the way the players move and interact that crushes Madden and creates the heated debates, and that's what gives people the impression that the players are really who they are as opposed to mindless drones moving in unison.
I'm not a fan of the art dept. taking a couple years off until the gameplay catches up. I also don't understand why gameplay shows up in every thread.

Thread: Does the Accelerated clock work?

Response #1-14

Who cares, the players move weird

Thread: Team uniforms are a little off

Response#1

I could care less if the 49ers wear plaid pants until they move correctly

Sincerely, I am amazed that this is always the discussion
I want good gameplay, but I don't fault the art dept doing a good job for the lack in gameplay.

I work in radio, I am an audio engineer and on air host. Don't blame me that sales had a bad week.

Kane asked how important it is to us. The reason why gameplay got brought into it was because many folks were explaining their rationale for the player faces not being at the top of their list. I think that is more than fair. For example, if the gameplay in Madden were top notch, I'd have answered his question with a completely different answer.

@Kane - no apology necessary, I was just trying to clarify what I meant.

It bothers me, other than the face that doesn't look anything like Peyton Manning IMO.

Gameplay is extremely important, but it's hard for me to get immersed in any licensed title when it does not represent the product well on a visual level. I play Madden BECAUSE I am a fan of the NFL product.

I understand that not every player model can be a perfect replica of it's real-life counterpart, but I think there is a lot of room for improvement in a pic like the one above.

I would LOVE to have the ability to edit player builds like NCAA, not sure why that feature has never been introduced into Madden?

It's funny that you put that picture up because that used to always bug me everytime I would play the Colts. That was when Madden had the QB close ups when they'd walk to the line and it was one of those things that always triggered the inner OCD in me. I'd say the more accurate guys are the better and it's been done really well in recent years in my opinion. Only thing I'd like to see is some of the facemasks looking better but stuff like that is pretty trivial.
