There Has To Be More PI's By Default Based On Real Physics

Just thinking back to 2k and just thinking about the possibilites and reading the blogs...there is no way that Pass Interference isn't called more in the game. For example, with the canned and pre-determined animations gone, if your DB is about to get beat you can just take the receiver out before the ball get's to him and take the penalty instead of giving up a TD. If players balance and movements are affected by other players then a defender getting there too early should knock the offensive guy off balance or down which should trigger a flag right? Because if not, it's going to be Oakland Raider football circa 1976 lol! Wondering how it'll work in regards to offensive PI as well?

I feel the same way, there were a lot of faults in Backbreaker but the PI calls were typically on point due to the physics. Also the WR/DB interactions while in route were pretty decent and made it fun & possible to play DB for a guy that typically doesn't...even though I had no clue how I was supposed to go for the ball in that game.

That first part has always been in the game.

There were many times where a WR ran a streak, only the QB threw it towards the sideline. My receiver was beat so I tried to get there as fast I could, only problem was that I got there too early and clocked the receiver far before the ball got there and was flagged every time.

Fouls were a major problem in FIFA 12 after that game's implementation of real-time physics, so this is going to have to be an area where the Madden developers spend time and fine-tune the ways that interaction and contact between players can be penalized. Something tells me that it isn't going to be proficient until 14, but anything can happen.

From what I gathered, it doesn't. I think physics will open the door for PI, but just not in M13.

For full disclosure, I didn't make it down to the most recent community event. But of the attendees that I did touch base with, doesn't sound like PI is called any more than it has been in the past. If PI was a focal point of the Infinity Engine, I surely think it would've been touted in the dev blogs.

I hope to be proven wrong b/c the absence of PI is near and dear to my offline gamer heart, but I don't know that it gets worked this year.

I'd settle for logic that tells the AI defender to lunge at the WR early from time to time. But I think a theme you'll see with this team is making improvements the right way, and not necessarily rushing them along just to say they're in the game.
