Um...yes...he DID run at the combine in 2006. I have the data on every player who ever ran anything going back to 1998 man.

He opted not to do the shuttle or cone drill that day.

The reported 4.27 at his pro day was an unverified time. The range had it from 4.27 to the low 4.4s. 4.35 was the most common time taken, so that is what NFLDS reported. Don't trust anything that Gil Brandt posts. He is known to give a "Texas Tenth" because of his bias to UT.

The importance of foot planting and acceleration/deceleration in football

To me the most enjoyable thing about watching is football is seeing a running back make a tackle miss or become ineffective by shifting his weight, basically carving a path through a defense. It's what made NFL2K5 so good, it totally nailed ball carrying because it implemented a foot planting system. It's currently the biggest flaw in Madden and it needs addressing.

A great example of the importance of foot planting in football was Emmitt Smith. How could he be recreated properly in Madden without a foot planting system implemented in the game?

Cue up this video at 0:28

Just watch how he shifts weight in running, creating space and holes to move into. He doesn't cut in rounded circles, going back on his path like a weightless mass.

Thanks to all that helped with the Baltimore Orioles roster, and to N51_rob for making me an OS premium member.

Yes the zig zag runing abilities that are present in this game really need to go.

It really takes away from the game looking sim. The new engine will help to a degree in the game looking sim, but the running then takes it away.

When this is addressed it will be a huge joy for us. I think we will be equally as excited when we heard about the new engine.
