Personally, I don't mind the draft is gone. The reason for this is actually simple: The rest of the draft doesn't get simulated after you get picked. Hence, it was functionally broken in the first place.

I'll be choosing a team that has a need at whatever position I create. Doesn't make sense for me to put a QB on my team since they don't need one (well, that's debatable but for another thread, haha)

all the ideas here are great, but they don't account for the fact that you can create a player at any time during the season, heck even Superbowl week. this is the reason that your player gets to choose his team. otherwise it would seem weird to jump from the draft to mid season.

I think I probably wont create anyone. Instead I will probably just take control of one of the fictional people actually drafted in the game. Especially if there is someone with a storyline that interests me as that will get me more immersed. That way, for me anyway, it'll feel more true to the game for someone who's actually been drafted rather than someone who i'm just picking a team for.

Thats exactly what i plan to do.

I plan to make a place holder player, sim to the 2020 draft and pick the most Terrel Davis (strong, fast, agile, breaks tackles) HB that was between the 5th and 10 HB taken.

In short form sim to 2020, find the best HB that was drafted 5th thru 10th that best fits my ideal HB style, and be him.

My reasons to wait ate too long to list. Way to many things have been left out cuz " they ran out of time". I'm good

And gamefly is a set monthly fee regardless of release.
