Exactly. The fanboy faithful from OS all the way to IGN can now put their shields and swords away because those of us on "Team consumer" who questioned EA's motives with this NFL license all along truly were right.

You know what they say... "If it's in the game, we BS you into believing it's in ours".

Yeah lack of competition does that. I still get Madden because I love football but if they had competitors we'd see a lot more creativity.

That's actually a "false positive" because a) competition alone is NO guarantee (it is all about the value of competition, which everyone on OS constantly assumes would have a high value), and b) you are dismissing other sports games (and other games in general) simply because they are not American football video games. Madden competes just as much with Call of Duty as it does MLB The Show.

This is true. It has been long established over several brands that the NFL wants only one license per manufacturer. That is why you get only Nike, Coors Light, Pepsi, Madden, etc. Who can give them the most money with the most control? The NFL doesn't care if you prefer Reebok. There are thousands of other consumers with no preference whatsoever. Additionally everyone forgets that NFL players, themselves, LOVE and play Madden. Since the NFLPA is 50% of the branding (probably more like 90%), that is crucially important.

I'm talking about football competition. Video game competition in general is a non issue.

Yes you absolutely should get those apologies. Whenever someone brings up an issue (like the removal of editing players this year when we had it last year) they almost always get silenced.

It's true that Madden is not as good as it should be by now and people know it, yet they continue to accept it.

Now go and dig up E3 Madden stage announcements from the past few years to listen to Peter Moore throw around the word "innovative" 100 million times.

Booooo.
