Re: Quater Length for realistic games

I noticed that too with holding. Just played two games with 15 min. quarters. First was Bears (me) vs. Redskins and won 27-22 in a back and forth game that ended up being decided by a pick 6. Then the second game I played Browns (me) vs. Steelers and got smoked 24-3. Browns D simply couldn't contain Mendenhall and everytime I'd run commit Ben would burn me.

13 min and 13 sec run off works for me.. with 15 min and 12 sec run off each team ended up getting 70-80 plays a game

I just played 2 games of exactly that (15 min/12 run off) and finished 1 game with 126 plays in the first game and 118 in the second game. Alot of incomplete passes will jack up that play count tho.

13 min quarters, 15 sec play clock, 15 threshold, slow.

Re: Quater Length for realistic games

can you save in game?

its really a dealbreaker for me, i dont want to have to plan my day for a couple of madden games, cause it usually takes me an hour to finish them

Last year's I did 13 minute with 25 sec run off and got pretty accurate stats. On offense I would let the clock run down to about 8 and snap the ball.

6 minutes with 20 second run-off. I play on all-pro default settings. Anything longer and I get bored with the opponent.

Re: Quater Length for realistic games

Gets on soapbox: this is essentially exactly whats wrong with madden at its core. Its designed to be a fun, quick experience ran on 5 minute quarters instead of a true sim. If it were a true sim wed have 15 min quarters by default and in game saves. Its like developing a baseball game thats designed with a 3 inning gameplay experience in mind for its default setting. The fact we even have to have this discussion is assinign.
