What have you done thus far to push for gamers to request this of EA/Donny Moore? Just asking so I can try to get involved if need be.

Re: FBG RATINGS IN MADDEN

@DCEBB, I wish you could tweet or facebook the devs about using FBG ratings as a second set this year. Even if they didn't compensate you this year, I think it could generate a groundswell once more gamers are exposed to them. I am picturing it like a free trial or sample, to get the word out. I am sure given the choice many gamers would choose to give the FBG ratings a try, which would likely lead to EA/Tiburon locking them up contractually for next year.

At this point so many people are thirsty for something different, I think getting FBG ratings in a CCM roster update would be huge.

Re: FBG RATINGS IN MADDEN

Honestly, the bulk of gamers wouldn't be able to tell a difference between the stock/updated ratings, FBG, and if all players were rated 70 at every stat if they never looked at them, with few exceptions.

I don't see EA endorsing and spending resources on fan created rosters either until it's a bigger feature like a pro version of team builder. A mechanism like that is what the push should be for.

lol, you got me because "push" was a strong term. Probably should have said advocated or been mentioning it around OS because that's pretty much the extent of it. I have mentioned it to EAGCs and CE attendees whenever possible, people I think that have some direct connection with the devs.

That's likely true but such a marketing frenzy has been built around ratings, it's like the number one thing most people notice. I would love to see true ratings hidden and the displayed ratings just be a team value like OVR. However, since they are right there for anyone to see and there is no ratings editing, I would rather use FBG's because they are data based and the creator of those ratings clearly explains his philosophy.

I can go on for days about how great I think they are, but it wouldn't carry as much weight as opposed to coming from a 3rd party not associated with the project. Thanks so much for the vote of confidence and I too hope that we can get the editing back.

It would be even better if EA would "outsource" their ratings to FBG in entirety or at least offer the option to have them implimented in the game.

Would you care to elaborate on why you think my ratings work well and perhaps break down the pros and cons to the system for those who are interested in trying them out?

As for the rosters for download, it most likely won't happen this year. The ratings themselves take a very large chunk of time. That along with my other "job" (you know the one that pays the bills) makes it difficult to devote more time to editing rosters, especially when it takes something like 2 hours per team. I am looking into getting a crew to do this for next year, however, when editing will hopefully return to Madden.
Your Welcome Hopefully EA will work with you for rosters. Also would be a good thing if they patched so we can edit .If that was allowed i believe that alot of Madden players would try your rosters and see for themselves the difference that they make. Its almost a see it to believe it episode. Hopefully a D/L version will be available for use in the future .

I agree everyone is always looking for updated ratings . The way FBG achieves there ratings just works well with Madden.

Some users may not notice, but to those who have played and used the ratings in game, they will see a difference in player performance in-game. I think that is what the OP was suggesting as well. The big difference to me is the methodology. Relying on professional, trained opinion as opposed to that of a developer for a video game makes a HUGE difference. Also, utilizing a proper data distribution would be great as well. EA fails to do either.
