No I didn't. Madden 09 was a failure. That is not hyperbole. If I said it was the worst game ever or that my 6 year old niece could have done a better job that would be hyperbole.

CC is not completely broken. It would be completely broken if you were unable to do all the things that it claims you could do. A feature being absent, no matter how much you and I feel it should be present, does not mean that the mode is broken. Is a black and white TV broken because it does not display color?

Have not yet purchased the game so the question I have is since we can not edit a players position can we at least put a 3-4 DE at DT on our depth chart? What about a 4-3 DE at OLB?
We can but there are unfortunate things to deal with. From the game's perspective they would be playing out of position so they would take a hit to their awareness. Secondly it throws off our roster requirements. If one were to play a OLB at the DE position they would have to carry an extra OLB and a extra DE.

Both of these sentences are exaggerated statements, aka HYPERBOLE.

Re: Well, I Guess This Says It All

Imagine what features old franchise could have had if they put a entire year behind it like they did with this new broken CCM mode. Imagine how good old franchise could have been with 2 years on it.....cause that is what it's gonna take CCM to get all the missing features back up to franchises level. At that point we will be at next gen already.

Also, how exactly are some of you guys getting into these imaginary twitter feeds? You must have some imaginations to let that immerse you is all I can say.

Re: Well, I Guess This Says It All

I don't want to disrespect the OP but...who cares?

For the 1000th time, all of the information as to what was in and out of CCM was available MONTHS before release. I feel for people who liked those features and don't come here, I really do, but there are longtime users posting in here like this is some big shock, and I think that's a failure on you, the customer. You know the info is out there. You know these forums are here. If you heard about CCM and wanted to research it, there were massive threads about what was in and not in CCM this year.

As it stands, CCM is the first step in what will be a multi-year implementation of a new direction for all Madden career modes. We are on the precipice of the next generation, so the time was now.

The underlying tech is good, they have a few kinks to work out, but then again, I don't know of any sports franchise mode that doesn't have some issues. Hopefully the missing features come back soon for those who need them to enjoy the game, but I don't think anybody can accuse EA of not being transparent when it comes to CCM.

Just because they told us ahead of time of the missing features doesn't give us reason to not be disappointed. Adding a new feature, and removing ones that have been in a decade worth or more of Madden games, is one step forward, two steps back, as a developer and for the consumer, IMO.

Nonetheless, I'm enjoying the gameplay.

Re: Well, I Guess This Says It All

Ahem, Gentlemen,......I have been purchasing the Madden Football Franchise since its inception on a YEARLY basis since Madden 95 (?) PC(I can not remember the first year ....I am 53 years of age....yes I am old!) I have had no complaints. The game has always been both entertaining and worth the money. However, for the first time (tomorrow) I will be asking for a refund for the game. I am an Offline user. The game as it stands now is "offline unuseable". It may come of a surprise to many of the "Madden Crowd,'" but there are some of us "freaks" out there who wish to simply play a season using FRANCHISE MODE (OFFLINE)by playing random games, editing rosters (Fantasy Drafts) etc and do not choose to play 16 year old "Stevo" online who runs the same running play and onside kicks throughout the game .The current game of MADDEN13 does not allow us to do this. ( No...Coach Mode is NOT the same as Franchise Mode in Madden12!) I will return it for an exchange of NBA2k13 . Rumor...EA NHL13 may have the same non-franchise mode. I hope that I am wrong.....

no player edits -- this for me is big. Not because of equipment or anything cosmetic though. I want to be able to change positions. After Ray Lewis retires I would like to switch to a 4-3 but I can't because I can't do things like move Ngata to a DT. This hurts the "be the coach of the team" aspect
hopefully it will be patched in, but I think we will have to wait until next year.

no 2 player CC -- Well this is wrong obviously. If you mean two offline players sharing a console, I don't know how to say this nicely but...its 2012 get online. All things considered, a very small percentage of players did this anyway. It was not worth the problems.

no multi-team control -- This defeats the whole purpose of a franchise mode anyway. The purpose should be to control a team and compete against other teams.

no oc/dc signing -- This is a bummer but lets be honest, what did this add to the game last year? It may have boosted a couple of ratings for some players? It was poorly implemented and I am glad it is gone because that suggests that in the future we will get staff features similar to Head Coach implemented.

no team relocation -- this is something like icing on the cake. MLB the Show and NBA 2k are know for being the cream of the crop in sports games. do they have relocation? It would be nice if it were in but its absence hardly diminishes the game.

Franchise mode was not about controlling an NFL team. It was about being a GM and creating your own team with your own coaches that run the schemes you want run while gathering a group of players to run that scheme. Thats what real football is all about. We live in the age of free agency liking one "real" team is for the 1960's. I like players, coaches, and schemes thats how i choose the real teams i like. Not cause i live in a city and have a team that plays there. Those players do not care about the city or the people in it, they care about the money, coach, and scheme they will play in. So yes its 2012 you should try thinking like it.

I can't see how you can play this game for even 2 months without running/creating a franchise and drafting imported real players from ncaa.

As for not many people doing multiple franchises on one console, you are absolutely insane. I know more madden players that do that than don't and we have all been playing madden since the day the first version was released. You could even do it on 2k versions. On sundays during the season we get 10 guys together and draft our franchises on 1 console and play out the season every week as we watch live games, then draft real college players off ncaa. This is only reason to keep playing madden all year round. I get tired of beating everyone online, im bored of being undefeated by week 3 of the real season.
