If he meant EA's Nascar 06' he was simply being a spokesperson (Joe Gibbs racing has been sponsored by EA Sports/GameStop in the past may still be now). I can guarantee you, that no easports console game has ever replicated nascar well enough to practice on it. Iracing and papyrus are the only ones.

Okay, well, like I said, I can't prove he meant it just glad I found proof he said it and I'm not crazy
