Offline CCM - Does changing the scheme actually DO anything?

I've been mostly simming through a new offline CCM I created post-patch 3.

One of the first things I did was switch the Pats defense from a Hybrid Multiple Front to an attacking 3-4. I've now gone through THREE SEASONS since that change, playing about 4 games a year and using exclusively 3-4 D playbooks.

Yet, on the schemes page, the "MLB 2" hasn't appeared, and my #2 MLB only had 24 tackles this past season, almost all of them in the 4 games I played and didn't sim.

I know the scheme setting has an effect on player compatibility, but does it honestly DO anything else?

Also, has anyone else noticed that "Team Prestige" is broken in FA/re-signing screens? My team has a team prestige of A when seen from the game matchup cards, but whenever I'm trying to re-sign a player team prestige is listed as poor.

Idk about defensively but offensively I switched from power run to spread with the colts a few years in and my offensive production went through the roof.

It changes the overall of players on your team and in FA. Start FA, make your scheme "Power Run" and then check the HBs with that scheme and those without. Go back and change scheme to anything else and then check FA HBs and you'll see OVR change.

I started an offline CCM just to check this out and I'm getting the same thing. I understand it affects a players overall but I assumed it would also change the positions available ie adding a DT and subtracting a MLB from the defense and also change my goals as a coach. If I'm a power run team, should've I have power run oriented goals versus passing goals?

I suppose it's just speculation because I haven't been able to find it again, but I'm so certain that I remember Josh Looman saying in one of the playbook videos that a player matching a scheme would result in increased XP gains.
