My thoughts:

1. Why is WR blocking inside even effective? That would be the bigger issue, imo.

2. Isn't that part of the point of motion, to get a WR a "moving start"? Another reason is trying to get extra info on man or zone, or to create a different sort of grouping - like motioning into or out of a bunch formation.

3. Another EA issue.

So, I guess my stance is that if it is cheese - it's because EA dropped the ball, so to speak, but not because it's unrealistic football.

And that's where EA needs to step up and make the game more real instead of having to "ban" things or talk cheese.

Especially, when it's something as realistic as WR motion. Personally, I think being able to stop the run out of the Dime is more cheesy (assuming it happens in M13, but it was doable in M12, imo).

This is the main issue with the motion snap in my opinion...

Its not really a question of whether or not its done in real NCAA and NFL games, because we know it is... We know that NFL team put a guy in motion to help him get a better release off the LOS...

The difference however, is that in Real life the CB can still touch the WR and bump him if need be... The OLB could chip him, or something... In Madden, it seems like Manually Motioned WR's get a speed boost when the ball is snapped, and it causes the defense to go into "******" mode ((no offense to anyone who is really ********, just a term))

So yeah, THAT is the question... IN MADDEN does it create AI Issues with the Defense?... Not, does it happen in real life, because we all know it does

See my previous post.

I totally agree with what you said though, its not "cheese" in real life because real life Human Beings are AWARE and understand real life football... These "Madden" CB's? Not so much lol

Re: Motion Snap... Is it Cheese?

In real Life ----This episode of Inside the NFL....

Game Day, sometime in the future: Green Bay Packers v. Detroit Lions....

Lions offense in the Huddle....QB Stafford looks toward WR C.Johnson....

Stafford says, "Megatron, I want you to go in motion, snap on 19, just as you reach the 1 hole, I want you to crash into the line and power block BJ Raji."

Megatron replies, "Like hell I am..."

Needless to say, the Lions choose a different play....Packers win....

Re: Motion Snap... Is it Cheese?

i motion and snap outside the tackles for wr. id love to do it in the a gap but from broadcast it aint easy with timing.
frankly id do anything to get a run game going. im the 9ers and frank after 12 games has 900 yards. im still power run and roughly 52% run atts. he gets stuffed on nearly all plays despite a good run oline and te/fb blocking. i use both tes and fbs i have to help the hb.

this is all pro with default sliders/penalties and playing purely coach mode

Cowboys motion a TE to block in the gaps at times.
